Luigi and Nidya, the husband-and-wife team behind The Patch Organics, set out in 2021 with a simple but ambitious goal: to farm holistically, regenerate the land, and strengthen community food resilience. Since then, they’ve transformed a 1-acre paddock for dairy cows into a permaculture-designed market garden and become Bellingen Shire’s only pasture-raised organic chicken producers. At the heart of their philosophy is a belief in food sovereignty, community connection, and biodynamic practices. Their farm is not just a place of production, but a hub for learning – they also run workshops and courses to help locals build skills in food resilience.
Life for the Chooks - The Patch Organic chickens are free to express their full “chicken-ness” – feeding, scratching, and roaming on pasture at Levenvale Farm. This natural cycle lets the chickens feed and nurture the soil, which in turn nourishes them. The result? Healthy, nutrient-dense birds that deliver both flavour and goodness.
