Tomatoes – Cooking Grade (Marks)

Dain Mavin Organics SX#21019 - Corindi, NSW
Perfect for making your own special organic tomato sauce!! We recommend to fry off a few brown onions with Italian Garlic in Olive Oil, then add 2kg chopped tomatoes with a little bag of Mr.Cs Basil Mix, a good dose of salt & pepper and simmer for as long as you can handle the amazing aromas!! This sauce will keep in the fridge for at least a week, but rarely lasts that long... Eggplant is also a beautiful addition, fried with the garlic and onions... We're getting hungry!!

Tomatoes – Round Gourmet

Dain Mavin Organics SX#21019 - Corindi, NSW
Organic. We just love GOOD tomatoes! Rich red, plump, juicy and full of flavour, a good tomato can make your day. It's hard to beat a ripe tomato, sliced in half with a generous sprinkle of good salt. We often keep a tomato sauce in the fridge too, which we make simply by frying off some onion and garlic with olive oil, and adding a bucket of overripe tomatoes. In a couple of hours she's ready and we've got tomato sauce for the week! Tomatoes are one of the lowest calorie vegetables around, they are also very low in fat contents and have zero cholesterol levels. They are an excellent source of antioxidants, dietary fiber, minerals, and vitamins. Technically speaking, a tomato is classified as a fruit - but as foodies, we like to group it together with other savoury delights, so here we are choosing to classify it as a vegetable - hope you don't mind :)
