Established in 2000, Hearthfire Bakery originated here in Bellingen. extending its presence in 2016 with a second outlet in Sawtell. Guided by an unswerving commitment to bread, sustainability, locally-sourced ingredients, and community enrichment, owners Sally & Dave have paved a distinct path. Dave says "If we don’t build our communities, there won’t be a community."
Locally Sourced, Sustainable, Organic Ingredients
Nestled within the vibrant Coffs Coast and neighbouring areas reside exceptional farmers and producers. Upholding an "open door" ethos, Hearthfire Bakery provides a stage for producers of diverse scales to showcase their yields. The source of their organically grown grains lies in the fertile expanse of Liverpool Plains, situated between Tamworth and Gunnedah. These grains are skillfully milled by Wholegrain Milling Co (Demeter certified organic).
Sally and Dave's culinary principles align with their dedication to sustainability. "We frequently source ingredients from local markets and growers, reducing the need for extensive transportation. This preserves the authentic flavours of our cuisine and bolsters the local economy."
